Throwster silk is a by-product of the silk reeling process, whereby degummed cocoons are turned to thread. It is usually less refined than other types of silk, and can have a more textured, nubby appearance. These wonderful curly threads can be blended with other fibres like wool or alpaca to add texture to your spinning or felting project. They also accept dye easily!
