Have you ever dabbled with felting but wanted to take it a step further? Welcome to intermediate felting taught by wool artist Sarah Breggin.
This is an advanced class, thus you must know how the basics of wet and dry felting.
Day 1: You will start by making a small wet felted bag using a foam paper template (one piece - no sewing). Instructor will demonstrate how to use a power sander to aid in felting. (If you have one feel free to bring it to class.)
Day 2: You will needle felt a design onto the bag you made on day 1. Focus will be on "crisp edge" needle felting: the creation of fine lines and controlled contours. We will also discuss techniques for zippers, buttons, snaps, and handles.
The sessions consist of 2 - 2 hour lessons.

Welcome to the magical world of felting. This 1 day workshop will be taught by the famous wool artist Sarah Breggin.
This is a one day workshop focusing on felting techniques for spherical beads and seamless bands.
At the end of the workshop you will have created one or more of the following: a pair of earrings, a set of bangle bracelets, a felt beaded bracelet, or a felted ring.
All wool, accent beads, findings, and tools and any other materials will be provided. If you have some of your own accent beads (small to medium sized beads) please feel free to bring them.

Learn to spin your own yarn on a spinning wheel.
This is an absolute beginner class.
You can come in during open hours and practice spinning if you wish. Please arrange times beforehand.
Day 1: You will start the lesson by learning the parts of the wheel, their function and the art of treadling.
Day 2: Begin the joy of spinning wool into yarn, using the drafting and sliding method with your hands while still treadling with your feet.
Day 3: On the final day you will have the art of spinning single ply yarn completed and you may begin the creative task of spinning two ply yarn!

Ever wanted to learn to weave on a table loom?
This is an absolute beginner class.
You can come in during open hours and practice weaving if you wish. Please arrange times beforehand.
You can also sign out the loom, this option will be offered to you during the first class.
The sessions consist of 5 - 4 hour lessons.
The 2010 schedule is shown below. Choose a group and sign up!
Group 1: March 7, 14, 21, 28 & April 11, 2010 (1:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Sundays)
Group 2: May 1, 8, 15, 22 & June 5, 2010 (1:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Saturdays)
Group 3: July 11, 18, 25, August 8 & 15, 2010 (1:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Sundays)
Group 4: October 24, 31, November 7, 14 & 21, 2010 (1:00 pm to 5:00 pm - Sundays)
